David Hogg and Classmates Come to NJ to Talk Gun Control

NJ residents do not need to be lectured about gun control, we have some of the most strict gun control laws in the country

David Hogg visited New Jersey today to lecture us on gun control measures that he somehow believes are the solution to another mass shooting event like we witnessed in Parkland, Florida. All the while he appears to be reading from a queue card with talking points that are most likely being fed to him by those in the media.

In the wake of the tragedy in Parkland, Florida we have been inundated with anti-gun rhetoric as a select few high school students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school have been on a nationwide gun control tour.

Today they made their way to my home state of New Jersey and organized a rally in Livingston, New Jersey to lecture us about gun control. They came here to New Jersey, a state with some of the most strict gun control laws in the entire country, to speak to our residents about how we somehow need even more dystopian gun laws to restrict law abiding citizens from exercising their 2nd amendment right.

According to ABC 7 NY news,

LIVINGSTON, New Jersey (WABC) —

New Jersey students held a rally Sunday in support of what they call common sense gun legislation.

Senator Bob Menendez and student survivors from the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida spoke at the event at Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston.

It is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of MetroWest New Jersey.

Survivors of the mass shooting are hoping to expand the reach of their gun control movement by seeking a boycott of companies doing business with the NRA and urging tourists to boycott the Sunshine State.

As the #BoycottNRA movement grew on Twitter, with petitions circulating against companies that offer discounts to NRA members, a growing number of those businesses announced they are cutting or reducing ties with the association.

As with every mass shooting the NRA has become the scapegoat to go along with the push for more strict gun control. Needless to say we already have dozens if not hundreds of gun control laws already on the books. Additionally, many states have their own gun control laws at the state level and even at the county and local levels which further restrict the law abiding gun owner from exercising their 2nd amendment right to possess a firearm.

So why did David Hogg and his gun control advocates come to NJ to lecture us about gun control? The answer is simple, because they knew they would see little to no resistance. They knew they were coming to a state that is run by liberal minded individuals with little to no knowledge of the Constitution, with little to no knowledge of the NRA. David Hogg and the rest of the children being used by the media are falling in lock step with the media and their push to demean the NRA, the only organization willing to stand with the legal gun owners in this country.

Before coming to NJ to lecture us on even more strict gun control laws, maybe David Hogg his friends should have done a quick Google search to see just what we law abiding New Jersey residents face when trying to exercise our 2nd amendment right in this state.

New Jersey already has a process in place that includes picking up an application from your local police department or the state police. Next you will need to fill out applications for a firearms purchaser identification card and or a handgun purchase permit form. If you intend to carry a handgun that requires an entirely separate form and process you must submit to, and in most cases you will be denied a carry permit unless extenuating circumstances require you to carry a firearm.

In addition to the forms that must be completed you will also need to provide two references to determine you are in a good mental condition and are capable of handling a firearm. Once your references check out, you will need to complete a consent for mental health records search form to determine you are mentally competent. To complete the process you will need to provide a copy of your driver’s license and social security card for identification purposes along with $65 to your local police department. You will also have to agree to be fingerprinted if this is the first time you are applying for a gun permit.

Please David Hogg, explain to me just what more we need to do in New Jersey to further strengthen our gun laws. It’s obvious why you came here to New Jersey, because you would never head to a state like Texas or maybe Nebraska and try and lecture them on how they should submit to the dystopian types of gun control measures you have been touting for the past week.
