Checking the Box For COVID19 Deaths

Are doctors throughout the country simply checking the COVID19 box? Recently passed, the Cares Act outlines a weighting method that could be greatly skewing both case numbers as well as overall deaths.

The month of May is upon us and still, we are debating the actual numbers of coronavirus deaths. Information is fed to us by mainstream media portrays a picture of massive death across the country. This is the case despite contradictory numbers and statistics from various doctors and studies that have been conducted.

Couple the confusing stats with the growing protests around the country to end the shutdown and you have what amounts to a powder keg. As a result, it is up to us to do some research and try and get the truth out there. Nonetheless, the research isn’t always all that difficult as you can simply go to the CDC website and find varying reports on the COVID epidemic.

The Numbers Aren’t What they Seem

While mainstream media reports deaths to be in the tens of thousands there are reports that dispute these findings. One such report comes directly from the CDC.

As you can see this chart is outlining the deaths from COVID19, influenza, and pneumonia from the week ending February 1, 2020, to the week ending April 11, 2020. The disparity between the number of deaths attributed to COVID19 and deaths with COVID19 along with pneumonia or influenza is astounding. Obviously there is room for speculation here. The fact is do we really know how many deaths were actually a result of the COVID19 virus?

Checking Off the COVID19 Box

Let me start by reiterating to all of the naysayers out there, the coronavirus is real. The number of deaths directly attributed to COVID19, however, leaves plenty of room for doubt. Within the Cares Act, you will find a provision that directly stipulates that the deaths resulting from COVID19 be weighted by an increase of 15%.

The question is why are they increasing the weighting factor? The only logical explanation is that they are doing so to collect on the increased funding. Trillions of dollars have passed through congress being allocated to all sorts of causes—many of which have absolutely nothing to do with the virus itself. In the words of Rahm Emanuel, it’s important to never let a good crisis go to waste. That is exactly what the Democrats are doing with the COVID19 pandemic.
