Are We Really “In This Together”

Since the beginning of the COVID19 outbreak, our TV’s have been inundated with ads in which celebrities make the claim that “we’re all in this together.”

Some may look at these ads as light-hearted good wishes from actors and actresses. This could very well be the case as they are dealing with some aspects of the trials and tribulations of what the rest of us are going through.

I’m sure many of them are separated from friends and family just as we are. Many are likely out of work and some may actually have to start looking at their financial situation as they try and navigate the world we are currently living in.

Disconnected From Reality

It is important to look through the “we’re all in this together” ads. Many of those telling us that they are in this together with the rest of us don’t live like the rest of us.

While an exorbitant number of Americans are out of work wondering how they are going to put food don the table—many of the “in this together” personalities still have their private chefs cooking up fresh meals daily.

We are sitting home trying to figure out ways to keep in shape given the fact that gyms are closed. Many of the “in this together” personalities still have their private trainers coming to their homes to help keep their glam bodies in shape.

While we small business owners across the country lose their businesses—the “in this together” crowd continues living the life of luxury largely unaffected by what’s going on. Furthermore, they have the audacity to claim that there in this like the rest of us.

If one of the “in this together” personalities were to happen to get sick rest assured they would be well taken care of. While the average American is waiting in hours-long lines to get tested—the celebrities would surely receive preferential treatment. After all, they are more important than the rest of us.

A trip to the grocery store has become one of the most stressful tasks one can do since the COVID19 outbreak began. While we don our masks to head to the supermarket—rest assured those lecturing us about how “we’re in this together” aren’t feeling the same pressure. Many of them don’t actually do their own shopping as that is simply beneath them.

Are We Really “In This Together”

It’s clear that this virus is affecting all of society in some way shape or form. Despite that, there are many who aren’t actually feeling the full effect of the pandemic.

Thousands of Americans are truly struggling as we are locked down in our homes. Countless individuals are out of work—some losing their businesses altogether. All the while celebrities are making the claim “we’re all in this together.”
