The Capitol Police arrested a woman Wednesday after allegedly discovering multiple guns in her vehicle outside its headquarters.

The woman, identified as Kery McAttee, said she drove to the headquarters from Michigan to discuss information she had about the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. She is facing multiple charges for unlawful possession of multiple firearms.

“At this time, there is no evidence the 58-year-old suspect was coming here to do anything, except speak with our officers,” the Capitol Police said in a statement. “We cannot provide the details of that conversation because they are now part of an open investigation. She was not on file with the USCP.”

The suspect allegedly parked her vehicle in a “no parking” zone at the Capitol Police headquarters in Washington, D.C. During a discussion with her, an agent noticed the firearms in her car. Police said she confirmed the guns were hers.
