Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has settled multiple lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct.

Watson’s lawyer announced that the NFL star has resolved 20 of 24 lawsuits filed by women accusing him of sexual misconduct.

“Today I announce that all cases against Deshaun Watson, with the exception of four, have settled,” Watson’s attorney Tony Buzbee said in a statement. “We are working through the paperwork related to those settlements. Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed. The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential. We won’t comment further on the settlements or those cases.”

The settlements will also allow Watson to avoid several days of depositions that would have been scheduled this week, according to USA Today.

The 24 women who filed lawsuits were part of a group of 66 women whom Watson had visited for massages in a 17-month period, according to the New York Times. At least two of those women have filed criminal statements, while 15 of them expressed statements of support for him. While the details of each case may differ, many of the women mentioned by the New York Times allege that Watson came to them in pursuit of sex.

In March, Watson signed a $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns — he was playing for the Houston Texans during the period when most of his alleged misconduct took place. Watson has vehemently denied allegations of misconduct and has maintained that any sexual activity that transpired was consensual. The football star avoided indictments for criminal sexual misconduct charges from two grand juries earlier this year.
