WATCH: Man accused of tossing still-breathing toddler in river attacked by boy’s father

A man in Ohio accused of murdering a 29-year-old mother and tossing her still-breathing toddler into a river was attacked in court Thursday by the boy’s father.

Antonio Hughes attacked Desean Brown during a procedural hearing and struck the alleged murderer in the head and neck repeatedly, according to a report.

Hughes was handcuffed following the incident but attempted to lunge at Brown, according to viral footage of the incident posted to social media.

The distraught father was removed from the courtroom, charged with contempt, and sentenced to seven days in the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Brown faces charges of murder, felonious assault, gross abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence, the report noted.

He is accused of killing then-girlfriend Nyteisha Lattimore and tossing Nylo, the woman’s 3-year-old boy, into the Ohio River.

The child’s body was never found.

Brown is believed to have killed the pair in retaliation for a miscarriage that Lattimore endured, according to the report.
