A Fox anchor in Michigan was fired after going into an off-air tirade against his co-anchor.

Victor Faust was on his morning-drive radio show on KNFS on Sept. 13 when he went off on his co-anchor, Crystal Cooper. Faust had been a Fox 2 KPLR host for seven years, calling his co-anchor “fat,” “stupid,” and “nasty.”

“Your kids have a [expletive] terrible mom,” Faust said in an off-air recording obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “I feel sorry for them.”

“Vic Faust no longer works for Fox 2, KPLR (Channel 11) or Nexstar Media,” station general manager Kurt Krueger told the Post-Dispatch on Wednesday morning.

“I am very sorry. My words hurt Crystal, my colleagues and family. I made a huge mistake and I’m ashamed,” Faust tweeted Wednesday. “As I work to earn trust again, I hope we can have an open dialogue about respect in the workplace and forgiveness. My mistake is not my kids’. Please respect their privacy.”

In the audio, Faust claimed that Cooper had made fun of him on air for having computer problems, which to him was “a history of attacking me on air.” The anchor attempted to ban Cooper from coming back to his radio studio.

“I’ve never attacked you,” Cooper responded in the middle of Faust’s tirade. “You’ve yelled at me twice, and this is the second time on break now.”
