The streaming platform Twitch has implemented a ban on unauthorized gambling streams on the platform after a popular gambling streamer was outed as a scammer.

The Amazon-owned platform announced the update on Tuesday, saying it would ban websites that host unauthorized gambling. The ban will offer an exception for sports betting, fantasy sports, and poker. The ban arrives after the British Twitch streamer ItsSliker admitted to scamming hundreds of thousands of dollars from followers and fellow streamers to fund his betting habits.

Starting on Oct. 18, Twitch will ban the “streaming of gambling sites that include slots, roulette or dice games that aren’t licensed either in the U.S. or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection.” The websites affected include Stake.com, Rollbit.com, Duelbits.com, and Roobet.com.

Twitch said it will reveal additional details about the specifics of the policy update before it is implemented on Oct. 18.

ItsSliker announced in a tearful confession video over the weekend that he had a gambling addiction. He said he acquired more than $200,000 from fans and fellow streamers after lying about his financial situation and asking for help. The Twitch streamer xQc offered to refund those affected by ItsSliker’s scam work.

The confession led several streamers, including Pokimane, Ludwig, and Hasan Piker, to threaten to boycott the platform until it banned gambling.
