Early Friday morning, at 12:01 a.m., Apple Music announced its sponsorship of the famous halftime performance, taking over for Pepsi, which recently pulled out of its sponsorship of the show.

“See you in February. #SBLVII,” said Apple Music in a tweet.

“After 10 years of iconic Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show performances, we have decided it’s time to pass the mic. Thank you to the amazing artists and fans who helped us create some incredible moments along the way.  Now on to the next stage … ” Pepsi wrote in May.

Fans immediately began speculating about a performance by Swift for several reasons. One of which is the mysterious timing of the announcement from Apple Music. The midnight tweet could be referencing Swift’s upcoming 10th studio album, Midnights, which comes out in October.

Furthermore, the star’s followers have long believed that she never performed during the halftime show because of her “long-term partnership” with Coca-Cola, Pepsi’s competitor.

Also, Swift had an exclusive streaming deal with Apple Music at one point. However, she now streams her content on several platforms.

Notably, the new album is already available on Apple Music for pre-saving.

“We’re finally gonna get a Taylor Swift Super Bowl halftime show,” said Billboard editor Eric Renner Brown.

“Taylor Swift performing at the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show has a nice ring to it,” added another user.

“The only reason Taylor Swift wasn’t a halftime show performer was [because] she was sponsored by Coke … this is her year I can just feel it,” another fan pointed out.
