Capitol Police arrest serial carjackers trying to hide in restaurant’s freezer

Officers with the U.S. Capitol Police took a pair of suspected serial carjackers into custody Tuesday after the two attempted to hide in the freezer of a local outdoor restaurant.

The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. when an officer identified a white BMW sedan authorities believed to be connected to several armed carjackings in a neighboring county, according to a report.

Authorities believed the suspects inside the car were armed and dangerous when they then attempted a traffic stop.

During the attempted traffic stop, the suspects drove off and ended up hitting one Capitol Police vehicle before crashing into another, the report noted.

Following the crash, the suspects attempted to run from the scene.

They tried to take refuge in the freezer of a nearby outdoor restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Officers managed to take the suspects into custody and discovered at least one gun and high-capacity magazine.

Two teenagers, Cedae Hardy, 18, and Landrell Jordan, 18, were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless driving, felony fleeing, possession of a large capacity feeding device, destruction of property, assault with a deadly weapon (Auto X2), carrying a pistol without a license, unregistered ammunition, and unregistered firearm.
