Top Biden USAID administrator met with George Soros’s foundation and other liberal groups: Report

One of President Joe Biden‘s top humanitarian assistance administrators has reportedly met with several Left-leaning groups multiple times throughout her tenure.

Close to 700 pages of internal calendar documents obtained by Fox News Digital show that Samantha Power, administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), met with groups such as George Soros‘s Open Society Foundations, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and other groups that typically donate to liberal candidates and causes.

Power, who handles international development and humanitarian efforts at the independent federal government agency, met with several high-level individuals who work for the foundations and groups, many of which pump massive amounts of money overseas into humanitarian aid initiatives.

The top administrator met with the Open Society Foundations at least twice. The foundation focuses on climate justice and equity and provides “grant-making, research, advocacy, impact investment, and strategic litigation to support the growth of inclusive and vibrant democracies,” according to its website.

The foundation has donated $19.1 billion in total expenditures. Soros himself has donated to several Democratic campaigns over the years, particularly for attorneys general and U.S. attorneys.

The first scheduled meeting between foundation president Mark Malloch Brown and Power happened on Sept. 29, 2021. It was followed by a second meeting on November 19, 2021, at the “OSF Offices” in Brussels.

“The Open Society Foundations are dedicated to advancing inclusive democracy, shared and sustained economic growth, and human rights in the United States and around the world,” spokesperson Jonathan Kaplan told Fox News in a statement.

“Our leadership, like our grantees, actively engage with policymakers — from both parties, across administrations — to advance these goals.”

Power also met with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation five times: three times with Melinda Gates and two with CEO Mark Suzman. Power met with Melinda Gates on Sept. 21, 2021, at a World Bank dinner on April 22, 2022, and had a phone call with her on August 20, 2022. Power held two sessions on May 19, 2021, and Jan. 11, 2022, with Suzman.

“Administrator Power meets with a wide variety of officials and sectors to discuss USAID’s mission to reduce extreme poverty, fight child malnutrition, spur economic growth, expand educational opportunities around the world, and build resilient global health systems,” a USAID spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Working with philanthropies and the private sector to catalyze resources to tackle these complex global challenges is important to improving the quality of life for people around the world.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Open Society Foundations and USAID for confirmation and comment on the meetings.

While the documents do not show any evidence of financial or policy outcomes coming from these meetings, it does imply influence over the federal agency, a point of contention that Republicans have repeatedly criticized the Biden administration for since he took office in 2020.

Republicans have been zeroing in on connections between Hunter Biden and foreign agencies that may have impacted the United States’s national security, claiming that the Biden family accepted millions of dollars from people with links to Chinese companies.

Gates’s Foundation has donated over $25 million to the Education Trust since mid-2022, a group that reportedly has a direct pipeline to top Biden officials in the Education Department, according to internal emails obtained by Fox News.
